Mother is a brand new line of coveted denim to hit the streets and Bella has it.

Mother is the genius creation of denim masterminds, Tim Kaeding, former creative director/designer of 7 for All Mankind, and Lela Tillem, former president of sales and marketing of Citizens of Humanity. Despite the already over saturated denim market, they both feel that Mother has that certain something to set it apart from its competitors. Kaeding says, “It’s been a while since any brand has stepped up and made a real difference in the market-judging from the reaction of our buyers, it’s only solidified our feelings.” Pulling from his resources at the top Japanese textile mills, Kaeding is offering rayon and cotton denim as well as supple twill blended from Supima cotton and Lycra spandex. “We are taking our expertise in fit and finish and adding a key third element that involved developing denim that feels like cashmere,” says Kaeding.

Fit and Style

The result? A soft denim with a bit of stretch and a sumptuous fit offered in over a dozen styles from flares, bellbottoms and wide leggings to true leggings and skinnies in a variety of washes including a pigmented black and a saturated blue.
Just in at Bella are two styles: “The Looker,” a skinny and “The Curfew” a skinny flare. As we have only three pairs of The Looker left on our tables, it is evident that the response to this new denim line is nothing short of amazing! We will soon receive other styles including “The Runaway,” “The Skinny, Not Skinny” and “The Drama” so stay tuned…
And what’s behind the name? Kaeding explains, “Mother is an ironic play on a pretty strong word…it can be nurturing or cuss but it’s in your face.”
